Biography
A painter of landscape and a sculptor in stone and clay living on the Rame Peninsular, south-east Cornwall. Since visiting West Penwith on a short painting trip in the winter of 2004/05 the main body of work has been "en plein air" oil studies of coastal Cornwall.
In painting the aim is to create, through direct observation, a representation of being in a landscape, in a season, at a time of day, and to communicate the uniqueness of each place and time. Sculpture is inspired by the human body and forms found in nature such as beach forms, and seeks to evoke an interdependence of these two sources.
